Paneltex Keeps Cool with Jam Inns Ice

Paneltex is delighted by the enthusiastic receipt of a bespoke vehicle box body by Bristol-based Jam Inns Ice, commercial and catering ice supplier to the South West and South Wales. The vehicle, based on a 3.5 tonne Isuzu N35 supplied by Commercial Motors Newport, is Jam Inns’ first foray into the world of designed-for-purpose vehicle boxes as well as Jam Inns’ first Paneltex build.

With daily deliveries totalling up to 10 tonnes of ice, it was imperative that this custom vehicle was capable of maintaining freezing temperatures across the delivery area. Paneltex was the natural choice for Jam Inns Ice, boasting best in class insulated panels and a uniquely lightweight design that permits payload maximisation. Sporting a GAH SRF351 freezer with standby and a 3-metre insulated box, the vehicle is capable of maintaining its frosty cargo at -20°C.

Jam Inns Director, James Maloney worked with Paneltex design engineers to create an easy-to-use, innovative design out of high-quality, rigorously tested materials. Described by Maloney as a “total game changer” and a “completely different experience,” the intuitively-designed vehicle box includes a full internal pallet protection system, a lockable sack barrow holder integrated into the nearside rear door and the rear frame, as well as a stow-in-the-roof movable internal bulkhead that allows the creation of two distinct temperature-controlled compartments.

After the delivery, Maloney waxed lyrical about the vehicle, letting the Paneltex team know that “I picked up the new truck on Friday & I just wanted to give some feedback … I LOVE IT! Honestly I think the build quality you’ve done on this freezer unit is exceptional. All the little details on here are really excellent quality.”

As the industry leader in temperature-controlled vehicle box bodies, Paneltex constantly pushes the boundaries in innovation and build quality, looking to provide customers with the best possible product for their unique use. The Paneltex team is delighted to hear such encouraging feedback, and is looking forward to creating future vehicles for Jam Inns’ growing business.
