National Apprenticeship Week event

Hull, 8 February 2023

At Paneltex, we pride ourselves on our dedication to the development of our apprentices, so we were extremely excited to attend The Future Skills Knowledge Transfer Event hosted by Hull College.

The event was held at Hull’s C4DI building, a buzzing hub of local businesses, all dedicated to growth, innovation and collaboration.

The key note speakers were John Connolly (Co-Founder and Managing Director at C4DI), Beckie Hart (Regional Director at CBI), Liz Ridley (Executive Director of Adult and Employment Skills at Hull College) and Chris Baker (Executive Director of Apprenticeships at Hull College).

The subjects ranged from the effect of the economic environment on businesses, new and creative ways to train and upskill the workforce, and how to future-proof business against the ever-evolving digital landscape.

We left the event feeling enthusiastic, inspired and hungry to implement new ideas regarding the learning and development of current and new employees to meet the future needs of our rapidly growing business – thank you, Hull College!

Paneltex runs a programme for Production, Electrical and Engineering apprentices, taking in a new cohort of 16 to 21 year olds each year, who rotate round the departments in the business and are supported by Hull College. With an excellent record of success on the programme, the apprentices are able to take on permanent roles within Paneltex, in the area where their skills and interests can be further developed.
