Paneltex supports Child Dynamix Greenpower racing car project.
Greenpower Education Trust is a charity looking to inspire young people into engineering. Supported by Green Port Hull and the Careers & Enterprise Company, Greenpower has set up a local challenge called Project Blyth. With a significant offshore wind power industry in Hull, the environmentally-friendly engineering involved in this project is key. Over 60 teams of young people have received support and funding to build their own electrically-powered IET Formula 24 cars. This culminates in a packed race schedule at the KCOM Stadium in Hull, this Sunday 16 July.
One of these teams, supported by Paneltex and Humberside Police, has been set up by Hull charity, Child Dynamix. Child Dynamix works with young people and children in Hull and Humberside who grow up in challenging circumstances and have little to no routine or support in their lives. Some don’t have a safe place to call home or adults in their lives on whom they can rely. The thousands of young people supported by this admirable organisation have been through numerous and varied issues in their lives and the services and activities developed for them by Child Dynamix are some of the most positive, reliable parts of their routines.
One such project has been Child Dynamix’s involvement in Project Blyth, working together to complete their car and prepare it for Sunday’s race series. Paneltex had been approached by Humberside Police, on the team’s behalf, to offer some technical, engineering and production support for the process of putting the car together. We’re all pleased with our small involvement in helping the team get this car ready for the upcoming racing.
We were immensely proud that we could play a part in Child Dynamix’s project, as the work they do for the people in our area is a real inspiration and a pleasure to see. We’re excited to see how Sunday’s races go and we’ll be cheering on the ‘Child Dynamix Mean Machine’!
