History
of CSC
CSC
(Specialised Vehicles) Ltd, formerly known as Coventry steel
fabrications was formed in 1947 and specialised in the manufacture
of high class domestic touring caravans. The build technique that
was adopted for the new product was quite revolutionary for the
caravan industry at this time as the manufacturing used a mixture
of interlocking extruded aluminum section to form the body,
together with acrylic sheets and mouldings for the roof, windows
and some of the interior fittings.
From
the initial domestic marketplace Coventry Steel Caravans then
diversified and started to produce mobile banking units for the
major banks of the era to enable them to provide banking services
to outlying rural communities.

Once
this was established as a successful and practical solution for
servicing the need of these rural communities, it was decided by
local health authorities to adopt the mobile approach, which lead
CSC to produce Mobile Medical Clinics, Mobile Clinics and Mobile
Mammography Breast Screening Units.
CSC
then decided to dedicate its entire production capacity to the
building of special purpose mobile units, all specifically designed
to suit the individual user requirement. CSC (Specialised Vehicles)
Ltd currently produces purpose built units for commercial, medical
and military application for both the home and export marketplaces.
They have adopted the latest technology in body construction by
using composite construction vacuum pressed sandwich panels, which
are lightweight but extremely robust and durable.

Today
an attractive and comfortable Hospitality Unit serves as an ideal
high-profile facility for image building at sporting events ranging
from Formula 1 races to top class golf tournaments.
A more
direct message can be provided by mobile exhibition units, training
workshops and demonstration vehicles. Ideal for any marketing
environment, these are quick and simple to set up, and can
incorporate the most advanced audio-visual display systems for
maximum impact.
We
have the expertise and experience to work effectively with the
customer at every stage, from initial concept to final design. And,
since few companies have identical requirements, we have the
imagination and flexibility to cater for the individual needs of
each customer, and thereby ensure that the resulting vehicle
fulfils their need perfectly.
The
pictures to the below show a typical exhibition trailer which has
been fitted out with display panels and storage cupboards down both
sides of the interior and a central ceiling feature housing the air
conditioning and spotlights. The main entrance doors are
pneumatically operated and open automatically as they are
approached.
